ABOUT THE GREAT SITARAM GOEL

In the late 90s, I was writing columns in different Indian newspapers, particularly in reddiff.com and also one in the Indian Express, called the Ferengi’s column. One day I received a letter from Sitaram asking me if I wanted to put these columns into a book which his publishing company The Voice of INDIA would print. I had heard of him of course : in those days it was not politically correct to be a Hindu warrior and he was the lone figure - and I thought a very courageous one. I replied to him that I would rather write a book from A to Z and therefore I wrote my first book “The wonder that is INDIA”. I met Sitaram quite a few times before publishing the book and after that and I was touched by his warmth as well as his great knowledge. But what struck me most what is dedication to HINDUS: he was a non-compromising man and called a spade a spade. I credit him, with Koenraad Elst, in inspiring me to write my first books. While being a crusader, he was also quite realistic not only about HINDUs (being selfish, non-courageous, looking only after their own families) but even about political parties of the Hindus in which he had very little faith. If I want to sum up Sitara Goel in a few words, I will say : he was the Pioneer of 21St century HINDUTVA & after him very few people of his stature have come up and we miss him dearly. I would like to pin here my admiration and devotion to the great man that was Sitaram Goel
